Open Space Technology
It's all about the coffee break...
This process was realised and described by Harrison Owen, when he understood that the most rewarding part of any gathering of people is often the coffee breaks.
So he considered what makes a coffee break so successful, and called that structure Open Space Technology.

The Copenhagen Interpretation of this process reimagines his original design for our process, and to specifically accommodate the experiences of neurodiverse particpants.

At the start of every gathering, we explain how it works. It has five very simple principles and one law.

The main hub for the original process is OpenSpaceWorld.org where you can find information about the process, and connections to a wonderful worldwide community of people who use it.

Jenifer Toksvig connected most strongly with the Open Space process at an annual UK theatre event called Devoted & Disgruntled, run by Improbable theatre company using Open Space.
